Apple iPhone Users Rejoice – iOS17 Update Now Available!

Apple has brought much-awaited relief to iPhone users with the announcement of its latest software, iOS 17, at WWDC 2023. The autocorrect feature has been significantly improved, allowing users to type words like ‘duck’ without the frustrating need to replace ‘d’ with ‘f’ repeatedly.

Apple claims to have introduced auto-correction with an “overhaul”. The Cupertino-based tech giant is now said to be using a “Transformer Language Model,” which basically relies on on-device machine learning to predict words. All these conditions make you finally get a “duck” right on your iPhone.

Apple now promises that typing on your iPhone will be more accurate when you update your iPhone to iOS 17. The iOS 17 public beta will be available next month, and the iOS 17 update will be available to everyone later this year for iPhone Xs and later, including the iPhone SE (2022).

The update to the autocorrect feature also gets an updated design to better support typing, and sentence-level autocorrects can correct more types of grammar errors.

iPhone users now get built-in predictive text recommendations as they type. This is said to help add whole words or entire sentences as easily as tapping the space bar.

In addition, Apple improves speech to text. Dictation gets a new speech recognition model that makes it accurate and reliable.

Another interesting feature that Apple is launching with the iOS 17 update is called “NameDrop”. While AirDrop makes it easy to share a file, NameDrop allows users to easily share contacts by connecting their iPhones or connecting their iPhones and Apple Watch. Using the same gesture, users can also share content or launch SharePlay to listen to music, watch a movie or play a game while close to their iPhone.
